There are quite a few blocks in this book, but the author made very few of them up into quilts. Most of the blocks could be made more efficient differently, and with fewer seams. For example the Hunter's Star block can be made with eight pieces, yet she has you chop up your sewn block into sixteen pieces to sew back together again. It seems like it would take longer to make it her way, too. I'm returning it. Unfortunately, even though I have Amazon Prime, they are making me pay shipping of $5.99!! By the way, this book is available at Connecting Threads right now for $13.79, rather than the $22.99 I paid for it.

Even though I have been quilting for a number of years, I find Teresa's method of taking a simple quilt block and turning it into something different amazing. Most of us follow directions in a pattern. Not all of us have the creativity Teresa shows in her book.

I ordered this book after reading about it on the Snow Days Quilting blog. She had stated: "The whole book is based around “disappearing” blocks (like a disappearing nine patch)." This is not true. There is an entire section on snowballed corners and another on half square triangles. Nothing revolutionary about that! There is even a chevron quilt design -I mean, really!If you were considering buying it for the eye candy, let me save you some money and irritation right now. Scroll up to the preview images for the book. 5 quilts and a crooked runner. That's it, there are only 6 actual photographs of completed projects in the book and they are all here to see for free. The back cover boasts 24 quilt projects yet the author only felt 1/4 of them were worth making. Why should we bother, then?

Love the book. Tutorials are easy and Teresa explains very well for us newbies to quilting. Definitely a book I will use again and again.

I'm an advanced quilter and usually design my own quilts. Sometimes, though, I buy a book because the technique sounds interesting or even just because I saw a pretty quilt from it on Instagram.That was the case here. The techniques held my interest; for someone who doesn't design their own quilts, this would be a good stepping stone.However, I'm quite disappointed with the book overall. I don't know if it was the decision of the editor or the author to have hardly any pictures of completed quilts, but it's an incredibly bizarre choice. I would be very upset if I had bought the paper version and paid list price.

These quilts are so cheerful and modern. The color choices are bold and are featured on light backgrounds that really show of the shapes. These quilts are not too fussy so great for sewists that like to make fast projects sometimes. A few quilts have a dimensional aspect and some flip-flop for reverse mirror images. All fun design techniques.
