I am always looking for new ways to build more financial wealth, but, before I Ame across this book I hadn't imagined the Bible had advice for that. In "Wealth Building Secrets" by Jonathan Geraci, we learn the wealth building habits as instructed from a scripture that is 2700 years old.As the author states in the book: "The Bible explains key habits to change your financial future for the better, but you must take that information and use it to review and modify your habits. Modern researchers have confirmed these principles."This book has a lot of practical advice taken from the bible that provides a new look on how to manage and build your wealth. Some of the habits/strategies are:• how to apply the fruits of the Spirit into your financial life.• learn the emotional and spiritual consequences of debt and how to escape!• 5 money myths that many Christians fall into.• 4 secrets from the Bible for building wealth.• discover how to practice “outrageous” generosity. The book also dispels many myths people have about money such as believing that money is the root of all evil, as well as tacking the fear of losing money and debunking the scarcity mindset. We also learn to stop comparing our wealth situation to others and focus on how much wealth we need to be happy instead of keeping up with other people. The author uses a great example from Rachel Cruze that states: "Rachel Cruze says, “We need to quit the comparisons, reframing the way you think about money, and developing new habits like avoiding debt, living on a plan, watching your spending, saving for the future, having healthy conversations about money, and giving.”My favorite section is on getting rid of debt. This is something that everyone needs to pay attention to, regardless if they read the Bible or not. In this section we learn important advice to stay out of debt and owe nobody. I like the example used about Abraham Lincoln and how he had repay his debt to someone through 3 days of labor after damaging a book he had borrowed. If only most people would follow such principles the world would have less debt and we would have more money to share around.I like the quote used here:The Bible does speak about debt being a good thing but in only one area. Romans 13:8 says, “Owe no one anything except to love one another, for he who loves another has fulfilled the law.”This chapter has great advice for staying out of debt as describe din the part titled, "The Good Debt Myth" and the "Debt Snowball."The book wraps up nicely with the final section on generosity. We learn how to give away the best of ourselves without losing anything, and how holding onto our riches through greed or scarcity is the evil of selfishness and sickness. Giving away wealth is a healthy act that will come back and deliver more riches than you ever dreamed.Overall I recommend this book to anyone who is looking to, not only build your wealth but, learn how to manage it and give it away as a means of relieving yourself of the money myths and lies you are holding onto.

As a young professional with debt, I took a look through this book hoping I could get some idea of how to manage my finances so that I could be successful both in my personal life as well as spiritual. There is a treasure trove of information out there about debt and financial stability, but sometimes it can seem overwhelming knowing which resource to turn to. “Wealth Building Secrets from the Bible” is great because unlike some other resources it is extremely simple, practical and Biblical. As the author makes clear, this is not some prosperity gospel message about giving all your money to a charity and God will bless. No, its about taking what God has given you and being a good steward. Whether you have a lot or a little (but especially more for “the little” side) this book is a great read. I picked up the book and in the course of a few hours I had successfully read through the entirety of it.Yet it's not so short as to be barren. On the contrary, the book made me think a lot about my own personal financial practices and whether what I am doing (or plan to do) is in harmony with the Bible’s principles. The author uses short anecdotes from his own personal experience that give the book a more personal touch and help the reader feel more deeply on whatever issue is being presented at the time. I also loved the little tips sprinkled throughout which are essentially short pieces of advices that can be implemented almost immediately into any financial plan. Finally, the book is full of helpful resources for those who do want to try and navigate the maze of advice. Yet, for those who don’t have a lifetime to spend trying to plan their financial lives, this book is a great first step for thinking seriously about money management as God intended and then putting pieces of it into practice.

A wealth of information. With so many books on finance, if you want to read up it’s hard to know where to start. Clearly this author’s well read, so I valued the resources he shared. I liked his come from, especially since it's clear he’s of the Dave Ramsey-mindset, which is a solid plan. I appreciated the Biblical perspective ‘you can’t serve two masters’, in referencing debt. It brought to mind the old joke ‘if that credit card wasn’t meant to enslave us, why did they name it MasterCard?’ The author’s common sense and practicality approach was spot on, for example - you don't have to go into debt to gain a good education! Breath of fresh air! Parents everywhere should be shouting hooray and teaching this to their children. Self-discipline, strong work ethic, creativity and applied determination will get you there. His “7-Tips to Attend College Debt-Free” - excellent!
